EVERETT STACK PREPARES FOR F4 US CHAMPIONSHIP RACE BY TESTING LIGIER F3 CAR AT ROAD AMERICA
16 year old rookie Everett Stack made another big step in his driver development program by making his first test day in one of the JENSEN team's Ligier F3 cars at the Road America circuit.
F3 test days are part of an expedited young driver development for Everett Stack, which serve as an opportunity to learn new circuits in advance of his F4 US Championship races. Road America circuit hosts round two of the 2023 F4 US Championship.
Ligier F3 cars also provide a significantly enhanced challenge for young drivers to develop their skills. Capable of reaching top speeds in excess of 155 mph, young drivers learn quickly how to manage throttle application dealing with the torque of the 303 horsepower turbo-charged Honda engine. Ligier F3 cars also feature considerably more aerodynamic grip, so young drivers need to adapt their inputs in order to take advantage of the increased aerodynamic grip by carrying more corner entry speed.
Ligier F3 are the specification race cars used in the Formula Regional Americas Championship. JENSEN young driver Oliver Westling participated in a similar development program during the 2022 season with multiple F3 tests in advance of his F4 US Championship races.
After posting a series of impressive results, Oliver graduated to the Formula Regional Americas Championship for the final two rounds of the 2022 season. Oliver proved well the merits of the season long driver development program by posting a career best 2nd place finish at the Austin F1 circuit finale.
JENSEN team owner Eric Jensen comments, "Everett is a very talented young driver. Although he has no previous racing or karting experience, Everett possesses a strong work ethic and learns quickly. It was impressive to see how quickly he adapted to the considerably more powerful F3 car especially on such a fast and intimidating circuit as Road America."
