Jake Pollack Enjoys Breakthrough F4 Race Weekend

June 25, 2024

JAKE POLLACK STARTED ON THE FRONT ROW AND FINISHED 3RD IN THE LIGIER JSF4 SUNDAY FINALE AT MID-OHIO

Moving into 5th in the 2024 season standings, San Antonio rookie driver Jake Pollack made another big step in his JENSEN young driver development program at the Mid-Ohio round of the Ligier JSF4 championship.

Competitive all weekend, Jake set the second fastest time on the last lap of Race 2 securing a front row starting position for the Sunday finale. In tricky wet conditions, Jake fought hard with the vastly more experienced championship leaders ultimately finishing 3rd.

Mid-Ohio was the third race weekend of the 2024 Ligier JSF4 championship season. To put into context his impressive rate of improvement, Jake qualified last for the season opener at New Orleans more than 3 seconds from the fastest time.

Team owner Eric Jensen stated, "Jake continues to impress with his race craft and decision-making.. The other drivers at the front of the 2024 championship are very talented and experienced, so it's very motivating for the whole team to support Jake as each weekend he makes big steps toward our ultimate goal of winning races."

Taking advantage of the month-long break until the next race at New Jersey Motorsport Park, Jake will begin testing in one of the JENSEN team's Ligier F3 race cars. The development plan is two-fold; first the much higher speeds of the F3 race car will make driving the F4 car at the limit seem considerably easier. Second, our plan is to graduate Jake to finish the 2024 season by competing in the Formula Regional Americas season finale at Circuit of the Americas in order to give him a head start on his 2025 season plan.

Cash Felber and Roman Felber also enjoyed a successful debut weekend racing in the Ligier JS F4 championship. Quick all weekend, Roman scored an impressive 6th place finish in the tricky wet conditions of the Sunday finale. His twin brother Cash showed considerable pace setting lap times competitive with the leaders. However, Mid-Ohio is a challenging circuit for passing especially when fighting for position with other quick drivers. Cash ultimately finished 9th in the Sunday finale scoring his first championship points, but with clear track surely Cash had the pace to be a top 5 contender.

2024 is the inaugural season of the Ligier JS F4 Championship, which is a development series where drivers can gain competition experience before graduating to race in the F4 US Championship and Formula Regional Americas. Drivers compete using the same pro spec Ligier F4 race cars used in the 2023 F4 US Championship, with races at five circuits across North America including the season finale at Circuit of the Americas.
