Formula Regional Return With European Prospect

June 12, 2024

THEODOR JENSEN JOINS JENSEN FOR INAUGURAL FORMULA REGIONAL AMERICAS RACE ON THE ROAD COURSE AT INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

After a successful 2023 campaign, JENSEN returns to the Formula Regional Americas grid with Danish driver Theodor Jensen for round three of the 2024 season championship on the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

17 year old Theodor is also racing the full 2024 season in the equivalent level EUROCUP F3 championship, and is coming off a career best weekend where he scored a 7th place finish at the Portimao circuit in Portugal.

Team owner Eric Jensen stated, "18 months ago we tested with Theodor driving one of our F4 race cars and have discussed working together since. Theodor is planning to pivot his driving career to race full-time in the USA in 2025 on a trajectory to ultimately race in the IndyCar series. So racing on the Indianapolis road course is an ideal opportunity to learn a circuit that is an annual fixture on the Indy NXT schedule."

JENSEN Formula Regional Americas team enjoyed a successful 2023 season including scoring race wins at New Jersey and the season finale on the Austin F1 track Circuit of the Americas. With three former series champions Kyle Kirkwood, Linus Lundqvist, and Kyffin Simpson currently racing full-time in the IndyCar championship, Formula Regional Americas is well proven as an ideal stepping stone for prospects aiming to ultimately graduate to joining the IndyCar series.

Formula Regional Americas is the top level American junior race series on the FIA Formula One Championship's young driver development ladder. 2024 championship is comprised of 7 race weekends at iconic American race circuits including Road America, Mid-Ohio, and the season finale Circuit of the Americas. Ligier JS-F3 are the specification race cars used in the championship, powered by 303 horsepower turbo-charged engines capable of top speeds nearing 160 mph.

Team owner Eric Jensen continued, "We have experienced huge demand year to date from a stellar crop of rookie drivers, and have eight youngsters currently on customized driver development program. 13 year old Felber twins Cash and Roman are excelling in the FARA Formula series; with Cash scoring his maiden podium result at Miami Speedway in March. Jake Pollack and Parker Walling are racing in the Ligier JSF4 championship; with Jake scoring his maiden podium result at the most recent round at Road America. Athan Sterling and Ethan Brobston will soon make their F4 West Coast Series debut racing on the famous Laguna Seca road course in early July. So as the saying goes the pipeline is quite full of talented kids with some who will ultimately drive our two Ligier F3 cars in the Formula Regional Americas Championship."
