ROOKIE F4 DRIVER ROQUE MENDOZA SET FOR RACE DEBUT IN FLORIDA BASED SERIES FARA FORMULA
Roque Mendoza is set to take another big step in his JENSEN race car driver development program as he will make his race debut competing in the first race event of the 2024 Formula FARA Championship at Homestead Miami Speedway.
FARA Formula is a new twelve race championship comprised of six race weekends taking place at the Florida road courses Sebring Raceway and Homestead Miami Speedway. Ligier JS F4 is the specification race car for the championship, which provides an ideal balance of performance and driver safety for training young race car drivers.
Homestead Miami Speedway is his home circuit as Roque lives nearby in North Miami. 13 year old Roque began his JENSEN driver development program in summer 2023 making his first Racing Camp program. Since, Roque has made several additional test days driving the team's Ligier F4 race cars including a test day on the Homestead Miami Speedway road course.
Team owner and driver coach Eric Jensen stated, "Starting at a young age is one the most successful strategies for young drivers to ultimately achieve their dream to race in Formula One and other professional race series. Miami Formula FARA event will be Roque's first race starts so for sure he will have a steep learning curve faced with many new situations. Roque is a talented, driven, and very mature young man; so I am excited to watch how he embraces this challenge. "
FIA sanctioned Formula 4 Championships are the first race series steps on the Formula One World Championship young driver development ladder. However, 15 is the required minimum age for young drivers to compete in FIA sanctioned Formula 4 series. So development series such as FARA Formula provide the ideal opportunity for young drivers to gain extensive and valuable practical knowledge in advance of their rookie FIA F4 championship seasons.
FARA Formula 2024 championship kicks off at Homestead Miami Speedway on the weekend February 9-11 where Roque Mendoza will join his team-mates Cash and Roman Felber each racing their familiar Miami Blue JENSEN F4 race cars.:
